Who are we?

Equal Rights, Access and Opportunities SVG Inc. is an intersectional non-profit human rights organization dedicated to promoting equality and non-discrimination in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).

 

ERAO SVG has four main thematic areas:

ERAO SVG's work mainly focuses on educating, sensitizing, and spreading awareness to persons about their human rights and the rights of others.

 

In order to advance human rights and social justice, ERAO SVG partner with local, regional, and international persons or organizations.

 

ERAO SVG mainly operates virtually. However, it hosts both in-person and online activities throughout the year.

Our Mission

To educate persons about issues affecting the equality of individuals in SVG through partnering with local, regional, and international persons and/or organizations in order to help to advance social justice in SVG.

Our Vision

To ensure that persons are educated about issues affecting the equality of individuals in SVG.

Goals


1. To educate persons about issues affecting the equality of individuals in SVG.
2. To be a voice for vulnerable and discriminated groups in SVG.
3. To promote equality and non-discrimination in SVG.
4. To advocate for legal reform such as but not limited to:
(i) Constitutional reform;
(ii) Criminal law reform; 
(iii) Anti-Discrimination laws;
(iv) Sexual Harassment Laws; and
(v) Domestic implementation of international human rights treaties.




1. Monitor human rights and social justice issues affecting women, children, the LGBTQIA+ community and persons living with disabilities in SVG;
2. Attend meetings with local, regional, and international persons and/or organizations in relation to human rights and/or social justice issues;
3. Host public meetings, consultations, sessions, workshops, seminars,  symposiums, s
ummits and/or conferences on human rights and/or social justice issues;
4. Publish articles, press releases and/or statements on human rights and/or social justice issues;
5. Conduct research on human rights and/or social justice issues; and
6. Carry out social media campaigns on human rights and/or social justice issues.
